After a sleepless night (for most of us) we departed our house for the last time as a family of four. Headed to the airport, hugged our family goodbye, hauled our baggage and smiled all the way to the Delta counter.
Let's just say - 1.5 hours later we were running to security with a few batteries less than we came with. The oxygen machine for Grace requires large lithium batteries. These were pre-approved, by the only Delta approved oxygen concentrator supplier and Delta was not prepared. Not nice. Not flexible.
We almost missed our flight.
In the midst of that mess, I saw my husband litigate, negotiate and battle for his new daughter. In the middle of a very ugly situation - that was quite beautiful to behold.
It would have been more beautiful had I slept at all or been able to stomach coffee.
We made it on our first flight. We cried a little. We exhaled a little. We prayed a lot.
Pretty soon we will board for our big flight to Beijing. Please pray that we can rest. Rest physically, emotionally, and spiritually in the One who holds us all - even the little one who isn't with us yet. We know He goes before us. We are praying He goes with batteries to China and back.
Until we are in China...
Up
Up and away...
