On the road to healing...

We saw our cardiologist today, Dr. Berger. Grace had a sedated echocardiogram and an EKG once she was sedated. It all went very well and she did wonderfully - especially while sedated. 

You never know when you get Medicals from China or any country for that matter if there will be undocumented and undiagnosed, surprises. This was in the back of my mind, hoping that there would be none. 

Dr Berger was very happy to tell us that she has a garden variety Tetralogy of Fallot - no surprises, no extenuating circumstances complicating a repair and that we should have every expectation for a successful repair and recovery. 

Praise God. 

Oh, and he's also optimistic that if she stays healthy surgery could be within weeks. 

Weeks. 

Weeks away from a heart rate under 100. Weeks away from oxygen saturation above 80%. 

Weeks away from all pink fingers, toes and lips all the time. 

Weeks away from normal heart function. 

We need to see the ENT a week from tomorrow and have him weigh in on her trachea issues and make sure we don't need a pulmonologist involved as well. 

We are hopeful and excited for how this will change everything in Grace's body for the better. Oxygen is pretty important. 

This is where the healing begins...
